Yes. Rights Care Foundation provides all services — complaint registration, legal guidance, and case follow-up — completely free of charge. We never charge complainants. We are a Section 8 non-profit NGO funded by donations.

Can I file a complaint anonymously?
Yes. You can choose to file your complaint anonymously. Your personal details will not be disclosed to any third party. Anonymous complaints are reviewed based on the nature and severity of the rights violation described.
How long does it take to get a response?
You will receive an initial response within 24 working hours. Case resolution timelines vary depending on the nature of the matter. Urgent cases involving imminent threat to life or liberty are prioritised immediately.
What happens after I file a complaint?
Your complaint is reviewed and assigned to the appropriate specialist. You receive a unique reference number (e.g. RCF-XXXXXXXX) to track your case. Our team then contacts you to assess the matter and determine the best course of action — be it legal intervention, RTI filing, NHRC complaint, or direct mediation.
Can I file a complaint against a police officer?
Yes. Police misconduct, illegal arrest, illegal detention, custodial abuse, refusal to register FIR, and extortion are among our most commonly handled cases. We have empanelled advocates and retired officers who specialise in these matters.
Can I file a complaint from any state in India?
Yes. We are active in all 28 states and 8 Union Territories of India. Our network includes members and partners across every major district.
What if I cannot afford a lawyer?
That is exactly why we exist. Rights Care Foundation maintains a nationwide network of advocates, retired judges, IAS officers, and legal professionals who provide pro bono (free) support to complainants who cannot afford legal representation.
